Message from the Security Officer In-Charge
Introduction
Welcome to Laikipia University Security Department, which is located at the University Main Gate B Entrance. The department focuses on providing security to students and staff within the university, security of university property and installations. The department has competent staff deployed in different sections.
Mission, Vision and Objectives
Mission
Provide a high standard of security staff and infrastructure that fully satisfies the needs and aspirations of the students, staff and other clients.
Vision
We vigorously work towards eliminating physical harm against staff and students by identifying threats and vulnerabilities and implementing risk reduction strategies. Be vigilant in preventing loss and damage to our infrastructure.
Objectives

4. Security of students and staff within the campus
4. Ensure law and order is observed and maintained within the institution

Main issues handled by the department are:
1. Theft and Losses
2. Assault cases among students and staff
3. Missing students follow up
4. Gender conflicts
5. Prevention of theft and losses of personal belongings among students and staff
6. Deterrence to university property against theft and loss
7. Follow up and investigations of reported criminal cases
8. Consulting with the government security agencies where applicable
The department also liaises with other departments and sections of the university on matters affecting the security and comfort of the students and staff. The security office appeals to all students and staff to volunteer vital information to the security office for their own safety and that of the university at large.
All students and staff are advised to report any incident or any threat of criminal nature to their lives or university property at the earliest time to the security office in the University. One can report either physically at the Security Office Report Desk or through
