LU Staff Grant Proposal Writing Workshop


Deficiencies in proposal writing skills limit ability to: compete for competitive grants; contribution to advancement knowledge and impairs visibility in development and research arenas.

About The Workshop

Laikipia University through the Directorate of Research, Extension and Consultancy organized a 5 days Grants Proposal Writing Workshop from for 3rd to 7th June, 2019. About 35 staff members participated. Participants were identified competitively from Teams made up to address lifted calls that were sent to all staff to express their interest in April this year.  The workshop took place in the Main Campus and was facilitated by an external facilitator: Dr.K’Owino Isaac of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).

 The workshop was officially opened by Prof.Kibet Rotich,-Vice Chancellor. Prof. Rotich urged participants to come up with fundable project proposals at the end of the five-day training. Participants will also be expected to: apply knowledge and skills to develop competitive project proposals from already identified calls and respond to different Calls/Request for Proposals by interpreting the formats and continue to write a fundable proposal as well as identify different funding opportunities in future.
