The University facilitated staff members to attend the Skills for Prosperity (S4PKe) Programme. The programme was a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Education and the United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID). The Programme’s aim was to equip students with essential skills and knowledge to support their future careers and contribute to Kenya's economic growth. Skills for Prosperity Kenya is a programme funded to strengthen existing digital (online, blended) education capacity for selected Public Higher Education Institutions. The programme was scheduled to run from 1st October 2020 - 31st March 2023. The primary goal of the programme is to build the capacity of teachers by strengthening digital education for staff in Higher Education Institutions, TVET Agencies, Special Needs TVETs & mainstream TVET.
On 24th January 2023 during the S4PKe Learning Event the University was represented by Prof Vicky Khasandi-Telewa, during the celebration of the graduation ceremony of S4PK Digital Education Champions, Class of 2023, where 168 participants graduated out of a total of 350. The remaining are finishing expected to complete their courses 31st March 2023, when the programme ends. The University had two graduands who completed their course: Dr. Alex Kibett and Mr. Eric Yullu, who were presented with their certificates by the Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Finance, and Planning), Prof. Nicholas Kamau, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, on Monday, 27th February, 2023. We would like to congratulate them on successfully completing their course and look forward to having the remaining lot graduating in the next graduation.
